Despite the lack of midfield creativity available to Torquay following the injury to Brian Healey Mick received few first team opportunities last season and even when in the squad he was more often than not on the subs' bench. He spent a couple of months on loan to Conference club Southport in the new year and featured occasionally towards the end of the campaign. A left footed central midfielder his strengths line in the quality of his passing and his ability with free kicks.
