Ricketts enjoyed a phenomenal first season with Bolton Wanderers.
Signed for a bargain fee, he scored in his first game against Preston North End and continued to find the net with some regularity for the remainder of the campaign.
His early chances were mostly limited to substitute appearances but this didn't stop him from scoring consistently, and he went on to finish the season as the Wanderers' leading scorer by a comfortable margin.
Ricketts joined Leeds United in July 2004 with a three-year contract but was made available for transfer in May 2005.
He joined Southend United in July 2006 with a two-year contract.
Ricketts joined Preston North End in January 2007 with a contract to the end of the season.
He joined Oldham Athletic in July 2007 with a three-year contract.
Ricketts joined Tranmere Rovers in August 2009 with a one-year contract that was cancelled in January 2010.
