Striker Michael spent the first half of the 2000-01 campaign on loan with Danish club Hvidovre and shortly after his return he was loaned out again to Third Division Halifax Town.
His high work rate and skilful play made him a popular figure with the club's supporters and netted four crucial goals in his time at The Shay.
Michael joined Sunderland in February 2004 with a contract to June 2006.
The deal included a player exchange with Darren Byfield.
After a loan spell, Michael joined Wrexham in July 2007 with a three-year contract but was made available for transfer in May 2008.
