A slightly built young Gillingham midfield player, Michael made his senior debut when he came off the subs' bench in the last minute of the final game of the 2000-01 season against Blackburn Rovers.
Despite only being on the pitch for a short time, he had a major impact on the course of the game, delivering the cross from which the Gills snatched a late equaliser.
Michael was forced to retire from senior football in January 2004 following a series of injuries.
