Had two spells on loan with West Ham United while with Strasbourg, the first commencing November 1994 and the second from October 1995.
Having suffered a broken leg in the penultimate game of the 1999-2000 campaign, Michael spent much of 2000-01 recuperating and it was not until March that he returned to the Wimbledon first team.
Once back he showed that he could still be a handful to any defence as Birmingham City found out to their cost when he came off the subs' bench and changed the course of the game.
A wide left-sided midfield player who can also play as a striker, he returned to the Northern Ireland squad in the spring.
Michael joined Crystal Palace in August 2003 with a one-year contract.
His contract at Selhurst Park was extended to June 2005 in August 2004.
Michael joined Coventry City in July 2007 with a one-year contract.
