Dobson enjoyed a tremendous first season in senior football for Brentford in 2000-01.
He made his debut from the subs' bench against Swansea City in August 2000 but suffered a torn cartilage in the Worthington Cup tie at Tottenham Hotspur the following month.
He went on to become a first-team regular from December under Ray Lewington and appeared in the side that narrowly lost out to Port Vale in the LDV Vans Trophy Final when he scored the Bees only goal of the match.
Dobson is a right wing back who can also play on the left side or in the centre of defence and possesses a fine long throw.
The son of 1960s Brentford winger George Dobson agreed a new three-year deal with Brentford in July 2003.
