Louis-Jean was a regular in the Nottingham Forest first team in the opening weeks of in 2000-01 but was then consigned to the subs' bench when manager David Platt changed the tactical formation.
He made just one senior appearance after the end of October, later undergoing a groin operation before disappearing from the first-team picture altogether.
He played some very useful games in the reserves and still remains a very good squad player.
He is a right back or right wing back who is comfortable on the ball and reads the game well.
Mattieu agreed a new three-year deal with Nottingham Forest in July 2003.
He joined Norwich City in June 2005 with a two-year contract in a deal involving a player exchange with Gary Holt.
