Tipton finally made his long-awaited first-team breakthrough at Oldham Athletic during the 2000-01 campaign.
Taking advantage of injuries and loss of form by Carlo Corazzin and Mark Allott, he enjoyed a brief spell as the Latics' main striker and netted a total of seven goals in all competitions.
Tipton, who is a promising youngster who has good pace and excellent skills on the ground, signed a new one-year contract at Macclesfield Town in June 2004.
He joined Bury in August 2005 with a one-year contract.
Tipton returned to Macclesfield Town in July 2009 with a one-year contract.
