Spring again retained a regular first-team place for Luton Town in 2000-01, when he was a driving force in the centre of the park in what was a very disappointing season for the Hatters.
A tenacious midfield player with a biting tackle and impressive vision he scored four goals but was unable to prevent the club from being relegated down to the Third Division.
Spring joined Leeds United in July 2004 with a three-year contract.
He joined Watford in August 2005 in a three-year deal.
Spring returned to Luton Town in January 2007 with a contract to June 2009.
He joined Charlton Athletic in January 2009 with a contract to June 2010.
Spring joined Leyton Orient in July 2010 with a two-year contract.
He joined Wycombe Wanderers in July 2012 with a two-year contract.
