Redmile started 2000-01 as a regular in the Notts County defence but lost his place following a heavy defeat at Walsall and in November he moved on loan to Shrewsbury Town.
He quickly settled in at Gay Meadow and the deal became permanent as he went on to establish an effective partnership in the heart of the defence with Andrew Tretton.
He is a commanding central defender who likes to get forward at set-pieces where his height is a great advantage.
