Jansen had a great season with Blackburn Rovers in 2000-01 after a rather disappointing time the previous term.
He bagged a hatful of goals and became the idol of the Ewood Park faithful with some fine performances.
Full of tricks he showed good balance, quick feet and a desire to keep on going through challenges rather than fall to the ground.
Composed in front of goal with the ability to think and place his shot, he is also a constant aerial threat despite his lack of height.
He was honoured by his fellow professionals with a place in the PFA's First Division team.
Jansen's contract at Blackburn Rovers was extended to June 2006 in May 2005 but it was cancelled in January 2006.
He joined Bolton Wanderers with a deal to the end of the 2005-06 season.
