Hewlett joined Swindon Town in the 2000 close season following a disappointing campaign with Bristol City and went on to provide one of the few success stories at the County Ground in 2000-01.
He put in some sterling displays in the opening matches before being sidelined by a cruciate ligament injury in October but fought his way back into the line-up in February and was a key figure in the Robins' successful struggle against relegation.
He is an attacking midfielder who tackles well and has good skill on the ball.
Hewlett joined Torquay United in July 2005 with a one-year contract before being forced to retire in February 2007 due to a back injury.
