This speedy direct right winger stepped up to first-team action with Sheffield Wednesday in 2000-01, featuring regularly in the early matches of the campaign.
He scored his first senior goal with a back post header in the Worthington Cup tie against Oldham Athletic in September and also netted in the FA Cup game against Norwich City.
Previously capped by England at Under-16 and Under-17 levels, he won six caps for the Under-18s in 2000-01.
Matt's contract at Sheffield Wednesday was extended to June 2005 in July 2004.
In July 2005, he joined Stockport County with a one -year contract.
Matt joined Notts County in July 2008 with a two-year contract.
He joined Macclesfield Town in July 2010 with a one-year contract that was extended to June 2012 in May 2011.
