Despite some promising performances in the final matches of the 1999-2000 campaign Matt once again found himself reserve 'keeper at Crystal Palace last season. His first-team opportunities were restricted to early season Worthington Cup ties when Stuart Taylor was unavailable and later as stand-in for the suspended Alex Kolinko. An alert and agile shot stopper he will be hoping to see more regular senior action in 2001-02.
