Versatile defender or midfield Matt received limited opportunities at Walsall in 2000-01 but on each of his first-team appearances he gave an outstanding performance.
Despite being used sparingly, he featured from the subs' bench in all three of the Play-Off matches when he battled hard for every ball.
He joined Kidderminster Harriers on a one-year contract in May 2003.
Matt died in September 2006 after collapsing on the pitch in a Conference North game for Hinckley United at Harrogate Town.
