He converted from an out an out winger to a wing or full back he settled well and was a virtual ever present for the next two seasons. He was on a week to week contarct at the start of the 1999-2000 season and left to join Bury following an injury in December 1999. He stayed to the end of the season. He was snapped up by Rotherham on a free transfer in June 2000. Bryan started off as a regular on the right side of the back three for Rotherham United in 2001-02 before suffering an injury that kept him out of the side. He was initially used mainly as a substitute on his return and it was not until March that he managed to regain his place in the line-up on the right-hand side of midfield. He was not a regular in the 2001-02 season.
