Giles was one of several talented youngsters on Cardiff City's books when he was given his Football League debut in March 2001 when he came on as a substitute in the home game against Hull City.
He later stepped in on a handful of occasions for Matt Brazier making the starting line-up at Darlington where he gave a creditable performance.
A promising left wing-back, he was a member of the Bluebirds team that won the Welsh Youth Cup and also featured for Wales Under-17s against Italy in December 2000.
Giles joined Hereford United in July 2006 with a one-year contract.
