Approaching the 250 club appearance mark. Martin Williams came close to joining Swindon during the 2000 close season but a recurrence of a knee injury put the move on hold and it was not until September that he eventually signed a three month-contract. However despite a high work rate he found goals hard to come by and he was released in January moving on to Peterborough United on another short-term contract. He featured regularly up front for Posh and scored a couple of goals but was released at the end of the season. He is an experienced striker who is quick, brave and shows skill on the ball.
