Taylor had another magnificent season in goal for Wycombe Wanderers in the 2000-01 campaign when he regularly produced match-winning performances. Perhaps his best display came in the FA Cup fifth round replay against Wimbledon at Selhurst Park when he blocked an 89th minute penalty to take the game into extra time, saved two spot kicks in the penalty shoot-out and even scored one himself to help the Chairboys to victory. A strong all-round 'keeper he is good in the air and has the ability to kick out with either foot. He was comfortably voted 'Player of the Season' by the club's supporters for the second time in a row.
Taylor announced his retirement in May 2003.
