Hayes will be best remembered for a spectacular 1986-87 season when he was Arsenal's leading scorer and guided the Gunners to the first trophy in eight years.
After leaving Cliftonville, Hayes had spells at Crawley Town, Collier Row, Romford and Purfleet before returning to Romford prior to taking over as player / manager at Bishop's Stortford.
