After the fireworks of the previous season, Martin never found the same goal-scoring form for Southend United in the 2000-01 campaign and finally departed to Scunthorpe United for a cut-price fee on transfer deadline day.
Iron manager Brian Laws hoped that his presence would help the team towards the Play-Offs but he only netted once for the Glanford Park club.
Martin is a talented striker who works hard and has an excellent goalscoring record.
After rejecting a new contract with Scunthorpe United, Martin joined Macclesfield Town in July 2003 in a two-year deal but was made available for transfer in July 2004.
He joined Lincoln City in September 2004 with a contract to the end of the season.
