The oldest member of the squad he began at club level with Olimpija Ljubljana making his making his international debut in June 1991 against Croatia. He enjoyed domestic success with Olimpija in the early 1990s but has since regularly moved clubs, with spells in Yugoslavia for Red Star Belgrade and Napredak Krusevac in 1995 then Maribor between 1996 to1998 and then in Turkey for Sekerspor between 1998 and 1999. He could not win a regular starting place in the international side until 1998 and was a member of the 2000 European Championship squad but was forced to miss out with injury. He is now backing in Slovenia with Maribor for whom he signed in 1999 and he was a regular in the team that won the league title in 2000-01. An agile keeper who organises his defence well his only fault is an inability to deal with crosses. He will start if fit.
