Mark Robins, a reserve striker, became Manchester United's talisman during 1989-90 scoring some crucial goals which many feel kept Alex Ferguson in the job, particularly in the run to win the FA Cup.
Whether that assertion was true or not cannot be said, but Mark will always carry that tag.
Regrettably, he could not establish himself as first choice, moving on to be a successful goal scorer wherever he played.
Later a promising manager, he chose to move to Rotherham United in the 2000 close season when he could have stayed at Walsall and had a superb season for the Millers, registering his best-ever scoring return as he topped 20 goals for the first time in a lengthy career.
Mark was made available for transfer by Rotherham United in October 2003.
After a brief spell at Sheffield Wednesday, he announced his retirement at the end of the 2003-04 season.
