A regular member of the Crewe Alexandra first team since graduating through the club's youth programme in the mid-1990's, Mark had another fine season at Gresty Road in 2000-01. A versatile forward with good pace, he is particularly effective when cutting in from wide positions, but can also play as an out-and-out striker if required. He continued to score regularly and his tally of ten goals made him the Railwaymen's second-top scorer for the season.
Mark was made available for transfer in July 2005. He joined Carlisle United in January 2006 with a contract to the end of the season that was cancelled in April 2006.
