Rawlinson occupied a regular place in the centre of midfield for Exeter City in 2000-01 until he suffered an ankle injury against Barnet last February which kept him out for five weeks. Accurate passing and non-stop running were both prominent features of his game and his experience of a higher level of football was evident. It was reported that the Grecians had released him in May 2001.
