Mark Kinsella

Date of birth12 August 1972
Place of birthDublin
NationalityIrish
Weight74 kg
Height1.75 m
PositionMidfielder

Following Roy Keane's dramatic departure from their Far East training camp, Mark partnered Matt Holland in Ireland's midfield in Japan and South Korea at the 2002 World Cup finals.

After serving his apprenticeship at the lower levels, he has more than adequately served Charlton Athletic since they became an established Premiership force following his £150,000 arrival in 1996.

More accurately, he is the Addicks' immensely influential captain.

Although he may lack the natural flair of his international peers, he redresses the balance with his workrate, tackling and accurate distribution.

Mark came to England from Home Farm in 1989 and became a great favourite at Colchester United.

He surprisngly left Charlton in the summer of 2002 and joined Aston Villa as a replacement for the departed George Boateng.

Mark joined West Bromwich Albion in January 2004 with a contract to the end of the 2003-04 season.

He moved on to Walsall in July 2004 in a two-year deal.
