Unlucky enough to succeed Schmeichel in goal - a thankless task. Replaced by Barthez. Bosnich's first spell at United (1989), while he was a student at Manchester University, saw him make several appearances as a non-contract pro. His club in Australia was Croatia Sydney and then he returned to Oz on completion of his studies. However, his second spell saw him signed from Aston Villa in July 1999. He moved to Chelsea in January 2001.

He was sacked by Chelsea at the start of January 2003 and received a nine month ban after failing a drugs test.
