This former Stoke trainee joined Carlisle United in August 2000 and went on to become a near ever-present in his first season of Third Division football.
Although he understandably looked a little raw early in the campaign, he grew in confidence as the season progressed and gave a particularly outstanding display in March against Leyton Orient when he was moved into a midfield role.
Mark agreed a new two-year deal with Carlisle United in May 2003.
