Richardson, who also previously played for Wycombe Wanderers and Airdrie, was released by Torquay United in September 2002.
He was snapped up by Hartlepool United who offered a contract up to June 2004.
However, after two loan spells, Richardson joined Lincoln City in January 2004 with a contract upto the end of the season.
This was extended to June 2005 in June 2004 but was cancelled in March 2005.
He joined Yeovil Town with a contract to the end of the season before moving onto Chester City in July 2005 in a one-year deal but was made available for transfer in February 2006.
He joined Bury in August 2007 on a monthly contract.
