A traditional stopper-style centre half, Malky won a more regular place in the Norwich City line-up in 2000-01.
His natural competitive spirit earned him many admirers amongst the Canaries' faithful as he combined well in a back three and also in a more orthodox back four.
Powerful in the air, he wouldn't claim to be the most graceful player around but he is certainly one of the most effective - his bravery in the challenge preventing many a shot on the City goal.
Malky's contract at West Ham United was cancelled in August 2005.
He joined Watford with a two-year contract.
