He began his career at Vinbergs in 1993 before moving to Halmstads in 1994. He won the championship in 1997 but then moved to Norway to play for Viking in 1998. He won international recognition soon after making his international debut in February 1996 aged 26, but he could not establish himself as a regular. He was voted Norweigan player of the year in 1999 but moved to play for Brondby in Denmark for the 1999-2000 season. His performances have made him a regular squad member and he may take part from the bench.
