Weaver had a disappointing season for Carlisle United in 2000-01. He began the campaign as first-choice 'keeper but lost his place after the defeat at Torquay and failed to regain it after Matty Glennon arrived on loan from Bolton Wanderers.
Weaver's contract at Northampton Town was cancelled in February 2004.
