Having begun the 2000-01 campaign brightly for Wolves Ludo was sidelined by injury early on and missed several weeks following a hernia operation. He was sorely missed in his absence and although he returned to action he suffered further injuries including a broken nose. He is an experienced central defender who is particularly effective in the air and is a key figure in the Wanderers' back line when fit, so the club were relieved that he signed a new long-term contract during the campaign.
