Saha had a sensational first season at Fulham and proved to be an inspirational signing by coach Jean Tigana.

His searing pace, the ability to turn both ways on the proverbial sixpence and a powerful shot with either foot make him close to being the perfect striker.

He scored 22 goals during the 2000-01 season from open play, to which he added a further ten penalties (from ten attempts) to finish the campaign as the leading scorer in Division One.

He was also one of six Fulham players in the PFA First Division team.

Saha joined Manchester United in January 2004 with a contract up to June 2009 for a reported fee of £12.825 million.

A gifted striker, quick with lovely feet combined with aerial power, his early Old Trafford career was plagued by injury.

Having picked up a second yellow card during the knock-out stages, Saha suffered the agony of missing France's World Cup Final against Italy at Germany 2006.

Saha' contract at Manchester United was extended to June 2010 in December 2006.

He joined Everton in August 2008 with a two-year contract that was extended to June 2012 in February 2010.

Saha joined Tottenham Hotspur in January 2012 with a contract to June 2012.

He joined Sunderland in August 2012 with a one-year contract that was cancelled in January 2013.
