Soares, who is the brother of Crystal Palace's Tom Soares, joined Barnet in August 2005 with a monthly contract that was soon extended to June 2006.
His contract at Aldershot Town was extended to June 2010 in May 2008.
He joined Southend United in July 2010 with a one-year contract.
