George played 12 times for Ireland's Under-21 side and has made over 100 appearances for Luton Town.
He had another good campaign for Luton Town in 2000-01 despite the club's relegation problems and finished as leading scorer for the second season in a row.
He was mostly used in a role behind the front two where he was able to find the freedom to run at opposing defenders. A promising striker with excellent control and nimble footwork it remains to be seen how long the Hatters will be able to hold on to him. He continued to represent the Republic of Ireland at Under-21 level winning a further cap against Cyprus in February.
George was released by Bury in February 2003 and had a brief spell at Boston United on non-contract terms.
He joined York City in July 2003 on a one-year contract.
George later played for Atlanta Silverbacks, Chesham United, Eastleigh, Hyde United, FC United of Manchester, Barton Rovers, Hitchin Town and Arlesey Town.
