Neal broke into the Stoke City first-team squad in 2000-01 making his senior debut from the subs' bench in the LDV Vans Trophy tie against Scarborough in December.
He went on to feature on a handful more occasions during the season and will be hoping to get more opportunities in the future.
He is a promising young midfield player who works hard and seems to cover every blade of grass on the pitch in his efforts for the team.
Neal' contract at Stoke City was extended to June 2006 in August 2004.
He joined Preston North End in August 2005 with a three-year contract in a player exchange deal involving Marlon Broomes.
His contract at Preston was extended to June 2009 in April 2008.
Neal joined Carlisle United in January 2009 with a contract to the end of the season.
He joined Shrewsbury Town in July 2009 with a two-year contract.
