Hogg stepped up to make his Football League debut from the subs' bench for Bristol Rovers on the opening day of the 2000-01 season and shortly afterwards netted two goals in the Pirates' remarkable 6-2 win at Brentford.

He went on to produce a series of solid performances throughout the campaign, scoring an important equaliser in the Worthington Cup tie at Everton and finishing on a high when he won the 'Young Player of the Season' award.

Hogg is a ball-winning midfield player.
