Lewis Buxton joined Portsmouth as a schoolboy and made his mark in the 2001-02 season when he made his first team debut in August in the match against Stockport County.
He joined Stoke City in December 2004 with a contract to June 2007.
After a loan spell, Lewis joined Sheffield Wednesday in January 2009 with a contract to June 2011 that was extended to June 2013 in June 2011 and to June 2015 in June 2013.
He joined Rotherham United in July 2015 with a one-year contract.
Lewis joined Bolton Wanderers in August 2016 with a one-year contract.
