A former United junior, Club Secretary Les was pressed into service as an emergency goalkeeper with all first-team keepers injured. Performed well in 2 matches (one win one draw). After Munich, when Secretary Walter Crickmer sadly perished, Les Olive took over the reins for the next 30 years, before becoming a director of the football club. Les has given over 50 years of his life in the service of Manchester United FC. A diamond.
