A close season signing from Bristol Rovers, Lee began the 2000-01 campaign as first choice in goal for Stockport County and, apart from occasional absences, he did well to hold off challenges from Carlo Nash and Andy Dibble and emerge as the Hatters' regular 'keeper.
Tall, strong, brave and agile, he showed an impeccable temperament during the pressure-cooker final weeks of the season when the club's First Division status was on the line.
A goals-against tally of just four in a run of eight vital games provided County with a platform to beat the drop.
Lee began his League career with Swansea City who he joined from AFC Porth.
Lee was transfer listed by Stockport boss Carlton Palmer in December 2002.
His contract at Blackpool was extended to June 2006 in May 2005, then to June 2007 in May 2006.
