Bradbury after a spell in the army originally joined Portsmouth from non league Cowes.

After a loan spell at Exeter City, he broke into the first team but was sold to Manchester City for £3million in the summer of 1997.

After they were relegated, he left to join Crystal Palace for a cut price £1.5 million in October 1998.

When Crystal Palace went into administration, he rejoined Pompey for only £300,000 in October 1999.

He had a sucessful first two seasons where he formed a good partnership with Peter Crouch.

He was sidelined for most of the 2001-02 season after he suffered a serious knee injury against Millwall in December 2001.

Bradbury joined Walsall in March 2004 on non-contract terms before moving on to Oxford United in June 2004 in a two-year deal.

After a loan spell, he joined Southend United in July 2006 with a two-year contract.

After a loan spell, Bradbury joined AFC Bournemouth in August 2007 with a contract to June 2008 that was extended to June 2009 in June 2008 and to June 2011 in June 2010.
