Yet another inspired recruit by Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce, Leam was signed in the close season after being released by Blackburn Rovers.

He made his debut for Wanderers in the opening game against Preston North End and followed this up with occasional substitute appearances before figuring prominently in the side during the final six weeks of the season.

His tenacious battling qualities were exactly what was needed at this crucial stage of the campaign.

Leam joined Blackpool in June 2003 in a one-year deal.

His contract at Accrington Stanley was extended to June 2008 in May 2007.
