Signed for £10.5million from Paris St Germain, Laurent revived memories of David Ginola's French flair on the Newcastle United left wing before spending the first half of the 2005-06 on loan at Portsmouth.
Laurent joined Derby County in January 2008 with a contract to June 2008.
