A calf injury delayed Laurent's start to his first full season with Sheffield United until October but thereafter he featured in most games, although rarely completing the full 90 minutes.
Always giving 100 per cent effort, he worked hard for the team as a target man and scored some valuable goals including one in the Sheffield 'derby' at Hillsborough before injury brought his campaign to a premature close.
Laurent has represented Benin in the African Cup of Nations.
