A fast, courageous winger, Kevin was used on the left at Arsenal despite being a right-sided player. He was reputed to have the hardest shot of all time. He strictly maintained his amateur status and his increasing medical commitments and an ankle injury led him to retire in 1949. Eire International
Also represented Ireland in athletics and rugby and was a first class performer at Gaelic football, tennis and golf. He later became doctor to the Irish Olympic team and then member of the IOC's drugs panel.
