After making a name for himself in the final run-in of the 1999-2000 season, Kevin Nolan really came of age at Bolton Wanderers in 2000-01.

Although absent from the opening games due to a broken wrist, he won a place on the substitutes' bench before forcing his way into the starting line-up and staying there for the remainder of the season.

A tireless worker in midfield, he is confident on the ball and is capable of making outstanding runs into the final third of the field.

He also has a ferocious shot, although his goal tally of three was a little disappointing.

Having firmly established himself as a key member of the Wanderers squad, he was capped twice by England Under-18s during the season.

Kevin's contract at Bolton was extended to June 2009 in October 2004, then to June 2011 in March 2007.

Kevin joined Newcastle United in January 2009 with a contract to June 2013.

Signed for Newcastle by Joe Kinnear, although relegation could not be avoided, Kevin was a key reason behind the Toon's immediate return to the Premier League as he was named Championship Player of the Year.

He was also named United's new captain in the summer of 2010 following Nicky Butt's retirement.

Kevin joined West Ham United in June 2011 with a five-year contract that was cancelled in August 2015.

He joined Leyton Orient as player/manager in January 2016 with a contract to June 2018.

Kevin was relieved of his managerial duties in April 2016 before his playing contract was cancelled in July 2016.
