Keven Dawson struggled to make an impact at Nottingham Forest in 2000-01 and made just one first-team appearance in the 3-0 defeat by Blackburn Rovers in September.
In March he went on loan to struggling Third Division outfit Barnet where he produced some fine performances notably in the 2-1 win over Southend United but was unable to lead them away from the relegation zone.
A small and stocky central defender he nevertheless has a commanding presence and reads the game well.
Kevin's contract at Chesterfield was extended to December 2004 in June 2004.
