Although now approaching the veteran stage of his career Keith had a fine season in 2000-01 in defence for Bristol City, his experience being an important factor in bringing on the young defenders playing alongside him. He provided solid leadership and was a regular in the starting line-up until suffering a knee injury at the beginning of March that sidelined him for the remainder of the campaign. Keith is a consistent central defender with a non-nonsense approach.
Keith signed a new one-year deal in July 2002 that included coaching duties.
