Having joined Ipswich as cover for Richard Wright at the end of the 1999-2000 campaign Keith made his debut for the club in the Worthington Cup tie with Coventry. He kept his place for the home defeat by Derby and made a single further appearance in the Premiership game with Coventry towards the end of the season after Wright was injured in the pre-match warm up. On that occasion he made a fantastic goal-line save to prevent John Eustace from equalising and from his resulting clearance Ipswich scored their second goal to clinch victory.
